Which of the four Heyday resorts is right for us?+
Vagamon if you want the infinity pool and the hills. Thazhvaram if you want quiet valley cottages without the crowd. Planter's Portico for complete privacy on a working plantation. By the Sea for a slower, coastal week. Write to us and we will pick with you.
How do I get to Heyday Resorts from Cochin airport?+
Vagamon is 94 km, Thazhvaram 115 km, Planter's Portico about 130 km via Thenmala. The Veli resort is closer to Trivandrum airport, twelve kilometres. We send a car if you want.
Is the whole property ours, or do we share it?+
The whole property at Vagamon, Planter's Portico and by the Sea. Vagamon is three bedrooms on one acre, Planter's Portico is the full bungalow on its 2,700-acre estate, and the Veli resort is the full one-bedroom. Thazhvaram is a low cluster of cottages, and you book one cottage rather than the whole property.
What meals are included at Heyday Resorts?+
Breakfast is included at every resort. For lunch and dinner, the caretaker cooks Kerala home food if you want, or we will point you to the places we go ourselves.
Can you organise treks, tea factory tours, or pine forest walks?+
Yes, with a day's notice. Forest treks from Planter's Portico, tea factory visits, a guided walk in the Vagamon Pine Forest, a quiet morning in the meadows. We book the guides we trust.
When is the best time to visit Kerala for a hill resort?+
October through March is cool and pleasant, the tea is greenest, and the meadows are dry enough to walk. April through May is warmer but the crowds are gone. The monsoon, June through September, is its own kind of quiet, and the pool is still warm.
Do the resorts have Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and parking?+
Free Wi-Fi at all four resorts. Parking is free and on-site. Air conditioning at Vagamon, Thazhvaram and by the Sea. Planter's Portico has AC in some rooms, and does not need it in the others because of the thick walls and high ceilings.
Are children and families welcome at Heyday Resorts?+
Yes. Vagamon has a children's pool in addition to the infinity pool, Planter's Portico has a lawn and a campfire, and the Veli resort is five minutes from the beach. Baby cots are available on request.
